TONY AWARD WINNER - BEST PLAY 1948SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY SOME OF THE BROADWAY CAST TO HARVEY LEMBECK (original cast member), who played Insigna from February 18, 1948-January 6, 1951, in 1157 performances, at the Alvin Theatre. Signatures and inscriptions to Harvey Lembeck includes Ralph Meeker's who played Mannion. Meeker won The Theater World Award for his role in Mister Roberts in 1948.
A very scarce signed copy of the novel by many of the original Broadway cast, inscribed and signed to a cast member (original cast), Harvey Lembeck, who two weeks after graduation, won the role of Sam Insigna in Mister Roberts, his first Broadway role, which he played on Broadway for nearly three years.
This book was published in 1946, and later, at the time of the play, signed by the cast members to Harvey Lembeck, in 1948. The play opened on February 18th, 1948. The signatures and inscription are legible, and seem to encourage the young actor.

A scarce signed copy of Heggen's comic-tragic classic novel of life on a WWII Pacific Ocean cargo ship, where the heroic Lt. Roberts tries to keep the ship & it's crew together. Heggen wrote the Broadway play which won Henry Fonda a Tony Award as best actor, a role he reprised later on in the 1955 movie.
